Which oil to choose for hair oiling? There are many opinions and over a few hundred oils available. This can be a bit discouraging. For starters, it is worth simply reaching for one of the most popular ones. It might turn out that you may not have to look for anything else.
In the competition for the best hair oil, we have two winners – Argan oil and Coconut oil. They are constantly fighting to be number one on the podium. Both are recommended, although each of them has slightly different properties.
ARGAN OIL
It is extracted from the nuts of Argan tree. It is gold in colour and has a distinctive nutty-fruity scent. The original Argan oil comes from Morocco because that’s where the Argania spinoza grows. It is worth checking the source of the oil to avoid buying a fake one. Argan oil obtained by cold-pressing is rich in vitamin E, phytosterols and fatty acids.
In hair care, Argan oil is used to provide an in-depth regeneration and heat protection. It works well for nearly all hair types because it rebuilds, smoothes out, strengthens, improves resilience and protects against harmful factors.
COCONUT OIL
The competitor is extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). It abounds in a lot of valuable fatty acids (including omega) and vitamins C, E, B, folic acid, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and zinc. Natural cold-pressed Coconut oil resembles white butter with a Coconut smell. It changes its state into liquid only at a higher temperature.
If your hair has low porosity, then this oil will be the best choice. Otherwise, it will make damaged hair frizzy and dull. However, for thick and heavy hair, it will provide proper hydration level and sun protection. It delivers incredible shine and leaves the strands silky soft.
Despite the long lists of advantages of the above-mentioned oils, you must remember that there are other, also worth including in your beauty routines.
• sweet almond oil (moisturizes, strengthens, adds elasticity),
• linseed oil (rebuilds damaged hair, prevents breakages),
• blackseed oil (restores softness, elasticity and glow),
• cottonseed oil (provides health to delicate hair ends),
• olive oil (protects against moisture loss, nourishes, increases shine),
• castor oil (accelerates hair growth and inhibits hair loss).
